Troy Miedema

Professor Troy Miedema is a first degree Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt who began training in 2010. Troy began his jiu jitsu journey under team A-force with professor Carlos DeSantiago in New Braunfels where he progressed to purple belt. After moving to the Bastrop area in 2015 he transferred to Insight BJJ and team Brasa. Troy began teaching kids and adult classes shortly after arriving and remained there coaching for many years. He received his black belt under professor Mario Esfiha in 2019. All three of his kids grew up training and his son is currently a 4 stripe brown belt. His daughters are both blue belts and all continue to train. He ended up leaving Insight BJJ during the pandemic. Since then he has been teaching Monday evenings in Lockhart at Lockhart BJJ and Thursday night gi classes at Corsair. He is a Christian man who loves Jesus and helping others.
